Sony Unveils New Devices at the SXSW Festival

The brand continues to push the limits of technology.

As they continue to push the limits of technology to where it would satisfy people's need for advancement, Sony recently unveiled a few of its new devices coming off their Future Lab initiative.

Shown at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, Sony showed different prototypes to the public which was headlined by their new wearable device called "Concept N".

Upon first look, the device looks similar to any regular bluetooth headset, with a design made to wear over one's head, the two ends of the wearable device seemed like an earpiece that you use to listen to music or make your calls.

However, the similarities from a normal headphone stops there as the device is meant to wear, not on the head and ears, but around the neck. Similar to the Amazon Echo, this is a hands-free device that uses voice commands to help you activate and use it.

With four microphones within the device for seamless use, you can command the device to give you information like the weather, give location through GPS and even take a photograph.

Aside from these and more features, Concept N is also a nifty music device that plays audio without the need to wear the device on your ear.

This allows a user to still hear other things but not hampering the music experience.

Aside from this, Sony also had other devices on display as their concept products. One of those is a black box that is meant to set on a table to project on the flat surface that responds as a touchscreen. It does more than just allow the user to press buttons on the table as it is also depth-sensitive which allows for a more interactive display.

In fact, Sony decided to show its strength by displaying it with a book Alice in Wonderland and the drawings appeared and it gave life to the story being told.

There were other devices ready for Sony to display and they apparently have a lot of concepts hoping to make it to the public someday, but they look to be off to a very promising start.
