Sony Xperia Z4 Specs, Release Date: New Compact Device Making Its Way In Japan
Sony has not been doing everything in making sure that it would catch up to its rivals in the mobile market, particularly in the Android world.
While the Xperia Z4 is a promising handset in its own right, people seem to be looking for more – something that can make it stand out against the Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, LG G4, and the few high-end mobile flagships from other Chinese manufacturers.
Instead of answering that question and feeling that need, the Japanese manufacturer has silently launched a new "compact" device.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the Xperia A4 has just been launched, and it will be exclusive for the Japanese market – until further notice.
In the report, the device boasts some decent specs including a rather small 4.6-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, and 16GB of built-in memory.
The device also has a microSD card slot, Sony's staple 20.7MP primary camera, and a 2.2MP selfie shooter.
In addition, the Sony Xperia A4 also meets IPX5/8 and IP6X standards when it comes to water and dust resistance. It also packs a 2,600mAh battery that Sony claims can power the device for up to three days.
Rounding up the specs sheet are the phone's LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with APT-X, NFC, GPS with GLONASS, and MHL support, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
In the report, NTT DoCoMo will be the first to offer the Sony Xperia A4.
Similar to the Xperia Z1s a couple of years back, the Xperia A4 could also reach other markets overseas if it performs well in Sony's home market.
