Sony Xperia Z5 Compact News: Leaked Images Show Slim and Sleek Build

Following Sony Xperia Z5 Compact leaked designs from alleged schematics, images of what appear to be a promo photo of the handset have appeared online.

A slew of leaked images of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 Compact have been sighted online, from its schematics' chassis design, all the way to the actual dummy handset.

Touted to be the Japanese tech giant's benchmark in their mobile phone division, the Xperia Z5 Compact is reported to be a slimmer and sleeker version of all its predecessors in the Xperia series.

The alleged chassis schematics were outed by Sony leakster @Ricciolo over the weekend, featuring a drawing following Sony's OmniBalance design prevalent on Xperia Z handsets, and featuring an internal codename, "E6xxx."

Sony's E6553 refers to its Xperia Z4, so the new internal codename may point out to the Z5 Compact.

Based on the image, it appears the new handset will have subtle design changes to its general look, yet retain the Xperia Z series' signature appearance.

Another leaked image appeared on a promo image on Dutch tech blog, TechTastic, giving rise to speculations Sony is gearing up its marketing in preparation for the new phone's imminent arrival.

Based on the image of the white iteration of the handset, some changes have been spotted, including the new positioning of the camera shutter button and the volume rocker which looks to be further down on the phone's right edge. The absence of a round power button on the chassis is also apparent.

From the leaked images, the Xperia Z5 Compact will have a 5.2-inch display. It is rumored to be carrying a Qualcomm quad core 2.5 GHz processor supported by 3 GB of RAM, and 16GB and 32GB of RAM expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. It will also have a 20.7MP rear camera with Autofocus and LED flash.

While Sony has given no hint of the upcoming handset, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is expected to be unveiled at IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany next month.
