'South Park' News: Season 18 Premiere to Spoof Washington Redskins Debacle

"South Park" is about to premiere its 18th season on Comedy Central, and the series creators have chosen an NFL team to spoof for its first episode—the Washington Redskins.

In the promo clip for the episode titled "Go Fund Yourself," Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder is berating Cartman for use of his team's name, following the lawsuit decision to banish the Redskins trademark for it derogatory nature.

"After Cartman and the boys name their new company The Washington Redskins, they just sit back and watch the funding roll in. The head coach of the Washington Redskins football team demands that they change the name but Cartman digs in his heels. The Washington Redskins may never mean the same thing ever again," the synopsis reads.

Meanwhile, iDigitalTimes reports that past seasons of "South Park" may now be seen on Hulu, and all those episodes can only be accessed via Hulu Plus paywall. Some fans of the show may have been disappointed with this new partnership with Hulu, because the entire 17 seasons archive was previously available for free streaming online at South Park Studios, with the exception of several controversial episodes.

The website reports that a good number of episodes can still be viewed on South Park Studios, but viewers will have to be patient as they now feature reportedly three times as many advertisements as before.

Season 18 of "South Park" will have a 10-episode run, starting with "Go Fund Yourself" on Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
