'South Park' Season 20 News: Another Milestone Approaches
Details about the upcoming season of "South Park" have been released, teasing more comedic moments with the fan favorite characters.
It was recently announced that Season 20 of "South Park" will premiere in Comedy Central later this year. The network released a statement that said, "South Park remains the bedrock of Comedy Central and we are thrilled that new episodes will continue to entertain audiences for years to come. The series remains as urgent and relevant now as the day it premiered and at nearly 20 seasons in it continues to draw generations of new fans."
There is much expectation for the animated series to continue on, as it approaches another big milestone in its history. Fans hope to see "South Park" reach 300 episodes, which can easily be done if the network will renew the series until Season 23.
Aside from Comedy Central, it was confirmed that fans of the series will be able to watch it on Hulu. South Park Digital Studios revealed that it has made a joint venture with the company. It was stated that Hulu currently has 18 seasons of the series already available for viewing.
The president of Viacom Music & Entertainment Group, Doug Herzog, stated that they are happy to pursue this partnership. He said, "Nearly two decades later, 'South Park' today remains as important and influential as any series on any platform and has become one of the most recognizable brands to ever come out of television. Through South Park Digital Studios we will continue to aggressively expand the reach of the 'South Park' brand by pursuing additional extensions and licensing opportunities worldwide."
With that, fans can continue to expect "South Park's" legacy to continue. "South Park" Season 20 is expected to premiere in Comedy Central this Sept. 14.
