'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Movie News: 'Spider-Man' Wishes Captain America to be Part of His Movie, Too
After the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will suit up as Iron Man once more in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie that will officially launch Tom Holland as the new web-slinging and spurting superhero via a solo film, some can't help but wonder if Chris Evans' Captain America character will take part in the movie, too. This came after Holland himself expressed hope for Evans' character to make an appearance on the reboot of Spider-Man.
"I really like Iron Man, he's obviously my favorite. I'd like Cap to show up at some point. I think that would be really cool if he did," said Holland after MTV asked him who among other Avengers superheroes he'd like to join his Spider-Man character in "Spider-Man: Homecoming."
The rumor that Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man character will just serve as a mentor to a younger Iron Man was bolstered when Downey Jr. himself said earlier this year that there is no planned "Iron Man 4." With the iron-clad superhero getting included in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming," it can be speculated that Iron Man will kick off his mentoring role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the said movie.

In the currently showing internationally "Captain America: Civil War," Holland's Spider-Man debuts in the movie as he takes the side of Iron Man in the battle of two groups of Marvel superheroes. As Holland himself describes his character as a kid with superpowers who reacts to Avengers like what a normal kid would, it is apparent that he will really need to be mentored by someone who is more seasoned as a superhero, Iron Man in this case.
In the event that Marvel, indeed, includes Captain America in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," the next question that needs answering will be: "What influence will he have in Peter Parker/ Spider-Man?"
Meanwhile, Holland's performance as Spider-Man in the already showing internationally "Captain America: Civil War" is earning positive reviews, with some even dubbing his character the only good thing about the movie.
"Captain America: Civil War" hits the Northern American theaters on May 6.
