'Spider-Man: Homecoming': New Promo Image Shows Spider-Man Swinging Through the City

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is still months away from hitting theaters but it is already starting to become the talk of the town.

Since the web-slinger made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) last year via "Captain America: Civil War," fans of the Spider-Verse have been anxiously on the lookout for any teaser for the next "Spider-Man" film. As luck would have it, Marvel has recently released a new promo image for "Spider-Man: Homecoming," featuring Tom Holland as the titular superhero.

Only one teaser trailer has debuted since the new "Spider-Man" movie was announced. For months, fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for new clips or images that will, in one way or another, offer a glimpse of the upcoming film. Thankfully, Marvel posted a new image from "Spider-Man: Homecoming" on social media earlier this week.

Marvel Japan's official Twitter account published the new promo image, offering a first look at the new Funko POP figure. While the image does not show much, it seems enough to pacify fans who have been itching to see the popular superhero back in action. In the photo, Peter Parker is shown swinging through the streets of New York City with his newly updated Spider-Man suit.

The synopsis for the upcoming film reveals that after being thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home to fall back into his normal routine. However, everything he holds most important will be threatened when the Vulture, played by Michael Keaton, suddenly emerges as his new nemesis.

Starring Holland, Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Michael Chernus, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Angourie Rice and Abraham Attah, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" hits theaters on July 7.
