'Spider-Man' reboot news, cast, spoilers: Directors talk about timeline of new Spider-Man

The reboot of "Spider-Man" has been quite a surprise for fans. After all, this would be the second reboot to date. However, the team-up of Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios this time promises a different take on the story as they build up the new Spider-Man to join the Avengers in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

The new actor portraying the web-slinging hero is Tom Holland. Holland's age definitely had rumors swirling that the new movie might just be focusing on Spider-Man being in high school. After a while, fans have accepted that it will be most likely the case since Marvel needs a much younger Spider-Man to fit into the story, especially when he becomes part of the Avengers. This had been a pretty solid conclusion since it was confirmed later on.

Finally, director Jon Watts recently spoke with Empire Magazine and finally spoke up about story line they are going for in the new movie, saying, "There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie. We're really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He's just 15 now."

The new movie, rumored to be titled "The Spectacular Spider-Man," will revolve around Peter Parker's life as he juggled being Spider-Man and being a high school student, which has often been portrayed in the comic books. Starting as an angst-filled teenager, his story can continue developing, giving Marvel an array of story lines to cull for its movies. Before this, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige already assured fans that they will not again have to watch another reboot in 15 years, so it can only mean that Marvel has chosen Holland to portray the superhero for a long time. This is a breath of fresh air for many who assumed that the second reboot would just be about changing the actor once again.

As of now, fans will have a first glimpse of Holland's Spider-Man, as he is introduced in "Captain America: Civil War," which will open on May 6, 2016.
