'Spider-Man' Reboot: Peter Parker is 15 Years Old, Plot Will Not Cover Origins, Goddard Rumored as Writer

It's common knowledge already that someone else is donning the Spidey suit as a "Spider-Man" reboot has been ordered. Taking over the role as Peter Parker is 19-year old Tom Holland, who will make a debut in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."

Compared to all the previous "Spider-Man" movies, the reboot version will be tackling a whole new era in Peter's life. If Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" came out as an 18-year old and Andrew Garfield's was 19 in "The Amazing Spider-Man", Holland will be an even younger high-school version of Peter Parker. Vine Report states that Jon Watts, the director of the upcoming reboot film, revealed that the new web crawler hero will be 15 years old.

This also makes the movie put more focus on the life of Peter Parker while in high school, uncovering more and deep stories of his teenage life. And as Watts had said, Holland was the perfect person to portray the role. "Tom was pretty perfect. He's very athletic," said Watts. "He can actually do a backflip! If he didn't already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top the kid is Spider-Man."

The reboot will also not be looking back to the original story of the famous Marvel character. It can be vividly remembered that both adaptations of "Spider-Man" showed the death of Peter's much-loved Uncle Ben. The plot served an essential point in the film, wherein Peter was convinced to fight against evil like the murderer of his uncle. But the next generation Spider-man will not be going through that one so fans can save their tears from that part.

Moreover, Ecumenical News has reported that speculations on Drew Goddard's involvement to the upcoming film are still emerging. Even if some reports say that he isn't part of it, other sources say that the director/screenwriter will be taking the lead in writing the reboot. Further updates are still to come but the new "Spider-Man" is expected to arrive in cinemas on July 28, 2017.
