'Splasher' News: Indie Game to Make its Way to PS4 and Xbox One

The indie world has been doing a great job in capturing the attention of the gaming community in the past few months. Recent reports have revealed that another indie game title is on its way to Sony's PlayStation PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One this year. Developed by Splashteam, "Splasher" was hailed for the challenges that the platform posed to the gamers.

According to reports, "Splasher" seems to be doing good after it launched for PC via Steam last February. The game developers have announced that it is now slotted for a debut for the PS4 and Xbox One, with the availability for U.S. gamers scheduled for Sept. 26, while Europe has to wait until Sept. 27.

Videogamer reports that the design and programming of "Splasher" is the brainchild of Romain Claude, who worked for Ubisoft to bring "Rayman Origins" and "Rayman Legends." "Splasher" features a nostalgic 2D platform, with the protagonist doing his best to fight back against an evil corporation owned by Le Docteur. He conducts traumatic experiments on the protagonist's friends, and in order to stop him, gamers are urged to go through 22 levels and use the arsenal of paintballs wisely.

Hardcore Gamer gave a review on "Splasher," and said that some gamers may find the plot a little lacking. However, the 2D game makes up for it with the challenge that players will experience in every level. The protagonist can overcome each level through a variety of ways that makes "Splasher" entertaining and addictive. Although it might not be at the level of "Super Meat Boy" and "Splatoon," "Splasher" is definitely worth a try.

"Splasher" is currently available on Steam for $14.99. While waiting for the release of the game, fans are encouraged to get the gist of the campaign and the platform through the launch trailer.
