Square Enix Set to Release 'Final Fantasy XIV' Patch 2.5 This Month
Square Enix is gearing up to release an update for its MMO game "Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn" with the upcoming Patch 2.5, scheduled to come out mid-January.
The Patch 2.5 and its updates was first announced by "Final Fantasy XIV" producer and director Naoki Yoshida on Square Enix's official "Final Fantasy XIV" website.
The video game company will be releasing Patch 2.5, which will come with around two-thirds of "Before the Fall," which is the game's main final scene, and the third and final part of the game "The World of Darkness." The Patch will also come with three new dungeons for the game and more content for The Crystal Tower 24-player raid.
Other additions are the World of Darkness, a new battle against Odin the Dark Divinity Legend in Urth's Fount, the new adventures of Hildibrand, who is an inspector extraordinaire and an agent of enquiry, and new gear for crafters and gatherers.
Square Enix will also be releasing other patches to complete the story of Eorzea's rebirth and the "A Realm Reborn" story before they release the "Heavensward" expansion pack early this year, which will come with personal airships, flying mounts and new races and jobs.
Patch 2.51 will be adding in the Manderville Gold Saucer, Chocobo racing and breeding and a Triple Triad card game, while the Patch for the continuation of "Before the Fall" is expected to come sometime in March.
Before the release of "Heavensward," Yoshida also shared a prophetic passage in the "Final Fantasy XIV" page from the journal of Louisoix Leveilleur:
"To naught but the Ivory Spear shall ebon mail yield, Yet Her point remains ever trained upon scales of black. Peer deep into the dust which swirls in our wakes and know the bloody dance of light and dark to be everlasting."
