St. Augustine, Florida Starbucks Sends One Customer An Insulting Message On His Drink

Getting one's name written wrong can just be easily disregarded. However, a Starbucks customer in Florida got his cup labeled not with a misspelled name but with a shocking message.

On Friday, a man ordered a Grand White Chocolate Mocha at a St. Augustine, Florida branch of the aforementioned store. He reportedly received his drink with a printed label that reads: "DIABETES HERE I COME," reported Action News Jax.

The still unidentified patron told the media outlet that he was upset when he read the statement because he has two sisters who have Type 1 diabetes.

"That first word just automatically brought the picture of both sisters in my head, and I was taken aback," he told ANJ. "Just the struggles they went through and all the doctor appointments they had."

"Seeing and knowing the struggle my sisters went through by third, fourth grade, it definitely struck a nerve, and I didn't just want to let it go," he went on to say.

The customer recalled that after receiving the coffee from his fellow employee who picked it up for him, he went down to see the store manager, Kent Miller, to show him some photos of the drink.

Miller explained that Starbucks "don't condone" such actions. He clarified that what is only allowed to be written on the label is "the drink type and the name of the customer."

He assured the affected party that the establishment will conduct thorough investigation on the matter as well as bring the issue to a higher up.

In an official statement released by the Starbucks corporate headquarters, it was revealed that they were "disappointed to learn of this incident" and that they are already establishing contact with the person to know more of his grievance.

The drink in question contains 470 calories, with 2% milk added to it.
