For the Blues, they faced a tough Chicago Blackhawks in a seven-game series where St. Louis had chances to finish off the series and get needed rest.
At one point, the Blues went up 3-1 in the series and were only a win away from advancing, but the Blackhawks showed a lot of determination as they bounced back to win two straight and force a deciding Game 7.
In the end, the Blues did just enough as they beat the Blackhawks 3-2 to move on to the second round.
For St. Louis, Vladimir Tarasenko is still the player to watch out for, but the Blues' balanced offence and movement are still their biggest weapon to try and beat the Stars in this tough series.
On the other hand, the Stars battled a game Minnesota Wild in the first round of the playoffs.
However, the difference between the two teams were evident as the Stars got out to an early 2-0 series lead.
Minnesota tried to bounce back valiantly and got as close to 2-1 before Dallas took a dominating 3-1 series lead.
In the sixth game, the Stars beat out the Wild 5-4 in a very entertaining game and Dallas are now hoping that they can use the impressive run they had in the first round to push their momentum in the second.
