St Louis Cardinals vs Washington Nationals Live Stream: Watch MLB Online Game 4 NLDS Playoffs (4PM ET)

The St Louis Cardinals will look to finish off their series against the Washington Nationals on Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals come into Game 4 of their five-game series leading 2-1 and having all the momentum in their favor having won the last two games and posting 20 runs in those two matches. All the action can be watched online through live stream via one of the two packages described below.

This series had looked like it would be a close one after Game 1, with the Nationals posted a 3-2 win. However, the Cardinals have swept the Nationals aside in Games 2 and 3, posting wins of 12-4 and 8-0. Most pundits are expecting the Cardinals to continue their scorching form and close out the series in today's game.

The Nationals, however, will not take a loss lying down and will want their dream season to continue further. If they can win today they will force a winner takes all final Game 5, which would take place on Friday evening.

The Nationals will attempt to do this by sending out Ross Detwiler. He has gone 10-8 in the regular season with a 3.40 ERA. Detwiler pitched against the Cardinals at the end of last month, but gave up three runs, struck out three and walked five.

However, some interesting statistics have come out from Detwiler's season that could bode well for the Nationals. He posted a 2.84 ERA when pitching in day games, as opposed to a 3.56 ERA when pitching in night games. His home form is also massively better than his form on the road - he has a 2.59 ERA at home, and a 4.38 ERA on the road.

Meanwhile the Cardinals will look to Kyle Lohse to take the mound on Thursday. He went an impressive 16-3 for the season with an equally impressive 2.86 ERA.

But the Nationals will be noting that the last time they faced Lohse they managed to hit four runs off him in the first innings. The Nationals won that game in extra innings 6-4.
