'Stan Against Evil' Season 2 Release Date News: New Series to Arrive on Halloween
"Stan Against Evil" season 2 is set to premiere on TV in three weeks, but IFC has already released one episode of the new season ahead of its premiere date. Titled "Curse of the Werepony," the episode from the upcoming series was dropped on various digital platforms, including IFC.com, IFC On Demand, The IFC App, AMC Premiere, YouTube, and Facebook.
With only three weeks left before its premiere, plenty of details about season 2's plot have already made their way online in recent weeks. Although it is difficult to make anything out of the new episode that was dropped on IFC's digital platforms yesterday, it offers fans a glimpse of the overall tone of the upcoming season.
"Stan Against Evil" season 2 will pick up with Sheriff Stan Miller (John C. McGinley) trying to unravel the mystery behind the time-traveling disappearance of his fellow sheriff, Barret (Janet Varney). Set in the small English town of Willard's Mill, the new season will follow Stan Miller's team as they continue to fight the loathsome demons who try to rule over their town, which was built on the site of a massive witch burning that occurred sometime during the 17th century.
As for its cast, McGinley will reprise his role as the disgruntled sheriff Miller. Deborah Baker, Jr. and Nate Mooney will both return to co-star, while newcomers Denise Boutte, Jeffrey Combs, David Koechner, Patty McCormack, and Steven Ogg will serve as guest stars.
Created by "The Simpsons" writer Dana Gould, the new season of "Stan Against Evil" will include eight episodes, airing weekly on Wednesdays, with two episodes starting Nov. 1. The two episodes will air back-to-back at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. While waiting for the new season to arrive, fans can catch up on the debut season of the series on Hulu.
