Stan Lee Reveals Hints of 'Big Hero 6' Sequel (VIDEO)

Marvel Comics' Stan Lee may have just revealed a sequel is in the works for Walt Disney's runaway hit "Big Hero 6."

Lee, the iconic comic book creator and perennial Marvel films cameo actor, inadvertently let slip there will be a sequel to Disney's popular 2014 computer animated superhero film, "Big Hero 6." He was being interviewed by the Toronto Sun recently and mentioned a list of upcoming Marvel projects, including Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Captain America, The Avengers, and Big Hero 6.

Fans may not realize the connection the former Marvel Comics president and chairman has with the Disney animated film. Lee made a brief cameo as an animated character playing Fred's father. Fred (voiced by T.J. Miller), is a member of the Big Hero 6 superhero team, who, while not a college student, hangs around at San Fransokyo Tech as the school mascot.

Offering his home, which turns out to be a mansion, as a refuge to his friends, he points out a portrait of his father as he guides them down the hall, and the man in the picture is an animated version of Stan Lee. Lee also reappears during the post credit scene to show Fred he isn't the only superhero in the family.

While Lee is credited as an honorary executive producer for the Marvel films, it is not known whether he is privy to the studio's inner workings, and his big reveal of a possible "Big Hero 6" sequel may or may not come to pass.

It may not be far off the mark, however, for Disney to move forward with a sequel. "Big Hero 6" was 2014's highest grossing animated film, making over $600 million at the box office during its theater run.

There has also been talk of a sequel by the film's directors, Chris Williams and Don Hall, which was corroborated by "Toy Story 4" helmsman, John Lasseter in Variety last month. Genesis Rodriguez, who voiced Honey Lemon in the film, told MTV there were talks of a sequel, but that nothing definite had as yet been decided.
