AXN, however, isn't available in the U.S. or North America. Sony Pictures Television Networks' distribution channel in this territory is Crackle but it won't reportedly be airing "Absentia." The show remains without a U.S. distributor as of press time.

"Absentia" centers on Katic as the FBI agent Emily Byrne who disappears while following up on a case investigation of a potential serial killer. Six years later, Emily resurfaces in a cabin without any idea about what happened to her.

Her husband, Nick (Patrick Heusinger), has a new wife who has been raising the son who thought his mother died. Emily has to come to terms with this new reality but her life becomes more turbulent when she's accused of being a serial killer.

Gaia Violo and Matt Cirulnick created and developed the series for a 10-episode offering. Katic also serves as executive producer.

"Absentia" also stars Cara Theobold (Alice), Angel Bonanni (Tommy), Ralph Ineson (Adam), Patrick McCauley (Flynn), Paul Freeman, Richard Brake, Neil Jackson and Bruno Bichir.

"We are thrilled that Absentia has found a home on so many of our AXN channels and we look forward to working closely with all of our distribution partners to present this compelling and character-driven drama to fans worldwide," Andy Kaplan, the President of Sony Pictures Television Networks said.
