"Star Trek: Discovery" is now one step closer to finally taking fans back into outer space, as showrunners have confirmed that it has now gone into production.
Confirmation that the show is now in production was not the only bit of good news that fans received recently, as they can now also check out a brief behind-the-scenes video showing off a few things that will also be featured in the show, over on CBS.com.
Unsurprisingly, there weren't a lot of substantial things featured in the short trailer and fans are likely hoping that will change soon.

One more thing that fans are still looking for is an exact premiere date for the show. Unfortunately, they will likely have to continue keeping an eye out for that, as showrunners have yet to announce anything official when it comes to "Star Trek: Discovery's" premiere date.
The upcoming show is currently set to star Mary Chieffo, James Frain, Doug Jones, Sonequa Martin-Green, Shazad Latif, Chris Obi, Anthony Rapp and Michelle Yeoh, but there may be at least one more cast member who may be announced soon.
A recent report from Inverse noted that Emily Coutts – star of films such as "Crimson Peak" and "Barn Wedding" – may soon be joining the show.
Apparently, the IMDb page for the show listed Coutts as one of its cast members at some point, though the listing appears to have been updated since then.
Coutts may even have an important role to play in the show as she was reportedly listed as the 'conn officer,' meaning her character may be in charge of piloting the ship.
For now, Coutts has still yet to be officially named as a cast member of the show, though fans will likely be looking for any new developments on that front.
