'Star Wars Battlefront 2' News: Creation of Nintendo Switch Version Will Depend on Devs Seeing 'Opportunities'
'Star Wars Battlefront 2' currently set to be released for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is already due out next month, but not all gamers will be able to get their hands on it come launch day.
For instance, those who have taken a liking to the Nintendo Switch and are now using it as their main gaming platform will not be getting the aforementioned game next month. But is there a chance that things may change in the future?
During a recent interview with GameSpot, Motive Studios producer David Robillard commented on the chances of the new "Battlefront" game making it to Nintendo's newest platform.
According to Robillard, a Switch version of the game "is something we'll explore if we see opportunities there." He then added that a Switch version was not something in development at the moment.
Switch owners probably do not love the fact that no version of "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is currently in development for their preferred platform. But then again, it can be a positive sign as well that the possibility has not been ruled out.
In all likelihood, the folks over at Electronic Arts are still focused now on getting the sequel out for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and do not really have that much time to ponder the possibility of releasing another version for the Switch.
Still, if enough Switch owners made it clear that they would like to get the aforementioned game, then perhaps EA will invest in that project.
The upcoming game will allow players to take control of iconic characters from all three eras of the popular science fiction franchise. There is also a single player campaign included in the game which will enable gamers to take control of Inferno Squad commander Iden Versio.
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is set to be released worldwide on Nov. 17, though fans who have pre-ordered or will pre-order the "Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition" can start playing on Nov. 14.
