While the third title will be incorporating elements from the first two games, it won't be a sequel, but a reboot of the franchise.

On May 2013, EA obtained exclusive rights to develop the Star Wars games for the consoles. Then earlier this year at the E3 convention, EA revealed during their press conference that the planet Hoth and the moon Endor would be playable maps.

Battlefront is a Star Wars first-person/third-person shooter franchise that first appeared in 2004 and was available for the PC, the Playstation 2, the Xbox, and the Macintosh computers.

Battlefront 2 then made its release a year later for the Playstation 2, the Playstation Portable, the Xbox, and the PC.

Gameplay revolves around two factions from the Star Wars universe duking it out against each other in an attempt to control command posts. Depending on the game type, these command posts determine how much reinforcements each faction can afford.

Battlefront offers a "team deathmatch" type of gameplay where players only need to defeat all the enemies in order to win the match.
