'Star Wars Battlefront' February Update Brings 'Twilight on Hoth' Map, A-Wing Tweak, Film Grain, New Mission

Electronic Arts has started rolling out its "Star Wars Battlefront" February update to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In addition to the customary bug fixes and balancing changes, the new major update includes a new multiplayer map, a new mission, film grain, tweak on A-Wing effectiveness, and many more.

New Hoth Map

The update brings a new map called "Twilight on Hoth." It supports Fighter Squadron and all 40-player modes, Walker Assault, Supremacy, and Turning Point. EA has also added the new map to Blast, Drop Zone, and Heroes vs. Villains.

Survival in the Ice Caves

"Star Wars Battlefront" February update adds a new survival mission in the Ice Caves. This new mission is available for both single player and co-op players. In Ice Caves, players will be tested on how long they will be able to hold off Imperial forces. They will face increasing waves of AT-STs, TIE fighters, elite stormtroopers, and more.

Film grain

Players can now turn on a new film grain effect through a film grain setting slider that's located in the Video menu. The film grain settings slide from zero percent to 200 percent, according to Eurogamer.

Battle of Jakku now in standard playlist

With the new update, players can delete the Battle of Jakku DLC from their hard drives. EA is adding the add-on content to the standard playlist in response to a request from the community. This means players can choose the Battle of Jakku maps within a mode.

Turning Point Mode expansion

"Star Wars Battlefront" February update expands Turning Point mode to all current maps that support Walker Assault and Supremacy. Jundland Wastes, Forest of Endor, Outpost Beta, and SoroSuub Centroplex maps have been added to the playlist.

A-Wing, Bowcaster, Homing Shot

Changes to weapons and vehicles will also take effect with the new update. A-Wing effectiveness has been addressed. Specifically, its hit box size has been increased, which now makes it a bigger target. The aircraft with its shield activated will now also take damage properly when colliding with an AT-ST.

As previously teased by EA, the Homing Shot and Bowcaster will receive tweaks. The Homing Shot's lock-on time will now be 1.2 seconds from 1.5 seconds. Meanwhile, the Bowcaster now delivers 15 per projectile damage from 10 per projectile, while its explosion radius is now 2.5m from 3m.

After the "Star Wars Battlefront" February update, EA will be releasing its first Season Pass DLC Outer Rim next month. Outer Rim will take the fight to Jabba the Hutt's palace in Tatooine and the factories of Sullust. Another free major update will also be coming in March that will include a new Endor map and a new Tatooine Survival map.
