'Star Wars: Battlefront' DLC 'Battle of Jakku' Is Out For Free On December 8
The release date of "Star Wars: Battlefront" is finally here and fans who are eagerly awaiting the game will recall that EA and DICE had revealed the all-new "Star Wars: Battlefront" trailer which showed glimpses of the "Battle of Jakku,"' which is a free DLC for the game. Those who have pre-ordered the game will get access to the "Battle of Jakku" DLC on Dec. 1, ahead of others who will get it on Dec. 8.
The "Battle of Jakku" DLC is said to be a setup for the Dec. 18 release of the film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." In "Star Wars: Battlefront," players can play as iconic heroes and villains of the "Star Wars" franchise and get involved in battle scenarios. Like the movie, players will be able to indulge in firing blasters, riding speed and snow bikes, and piloting TIE fighters and the Millennium Falcon among other activities. It also includes being able to command All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT).
The setting for these battles are the planets of Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and the virgin planet, Sullust. There are single-player missions as well as a competitive multiplayer mode that can handle up to 40 persons.
The trailer released for the "Battle of Jakku" DLC shows that the battle will be bloody. The Battle of Jakku is an important historical landmark. After the rebels won the battle of Endor, they waged stealth wars and entered the key Imperial holdouts on the remote desert planet of Jakku in the outskirts of the Empire.
Players will now be able to experience desert warfare in this DLC.
EA and DICE have taken fan suggestions and have done a lot of improvements, according to DualShockers.
Players who had complained earlier that the battles were tough will now be happy to note that the vehicles and weapons have been tweaked and balanced to make the battles fair. The invincible Walkers have been given some weak spots which players can use to try and bring them down.
Players can now join with friends to play the game. With the X-box Friends App, players can join friends and can see them as green dots on the map. Spawning distance had been a problem earlier. Now, spawn distances between Imperial and Rebels have been adjusted.
Players who want to play as Heroes and Villains will find that two more changes have been made. The automatic damage to heroes over time has been removed. Also, when players kill the enemy, they will no longer get health back by doing so.
"Star Wars: Battlefront" is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC starting November 17.
