'Star Wars Battlefront' Guide: Game Designers Answer Questions on Unlockables and How to Progress in the Game
EA DICE has published a guide on how players can progress and unlock customizations for "Star Wars Battlefront." The guide is based on the community's most common questions.
In a post at the official site for "Star Wars Battlefront," EA DICE provides a Q&A with answers from designers Anders Adlen and William Cooper. Here are the highlights.
How to rank up
To rank up, players need to score in matches.
Another way to progress in the game is through Challenges. In contrast to Accomplishments, which can be cleared in one single round, Challenges are more long term in nature. They can take three to five rounds to complete.
To take on a challenge, players need to go to the lobby. These can also be seen in the stat screen. According to the designers, players will always have three active challenges at a time.
How to purchase new gear
To get new gear, they have to earn Credits that can be used to buy unlocks. There are a couple of ways to earn credits. First, players can participate in Survival, Battle, and Training missions. Second, players can make use of Base Command, a mobile game created for this purpose.
Once they have enough credits, players can use them to unlock blasters, Traits, Emotes, and Appearance items. Credits can also boost a player's arsenal in Star Cards.
For those players who are unsure on which item to use their credit first, the designers have this advice:
"It's all up to you of course, but for your early unlocks you might want to go for the anti-vehicle Star Cards, such as the Ion Torpedo or Ion Grenade. Unlockable before rank 10, they are really useful in vehicle-packed game modes."
The designers add that it will also be helpful to unlock Focus Fire early in the game. Focus Fire is a Charged Star Card that can be unlocked by a player who is in rank 7.
Later in the game, players at rank 32 can unlock the Bowcaster, a weapon that can take out multiple enemies in one shot. Then there's Han Solo's DL-44 blaster, a weapon with great accuracy and gives high damage.
"Star Wars Battlefront" is playable on Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One, and the PC. It has a free DLC called The Battle of Jakku, which came out earlier this month. The DLC consists of two maps and more.
