'Star Wars Battlefront II' New Story Trailer: Single-Player Story Campaign Seen from Imperial's POV

"Star Wars Battlefront II" dropped a new trailer for its single-player story campaign and its focus is on the imperial forces. What did the evil army do following the fall of the second Death Star?

The trailer introduces Commander Iden Versio of the Inferno Squad of the Imperial Army. She saw how the second Death Star was destroyed and now she's rounding up her squad to prepare for a counterattack against the rebels and Luke Skywalker.

Janina Gavankar lent her voice to Commander Versio. She told ABC News that "Star Wars Battlefront II" happens in the years between "Star Wars: Episode VI" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The video game also ties in with "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," which will be in theaters this December.

Fans of the franchise will appreciate that "Star Wars Battlefront II" will showcase classic elements. The X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and the AT-ATs, including the Millennium Falcon, will pop up in the game, as seen in the teasers. Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker will also mark their appearances, as well as Kylo Ren and Maz Kanata.

The game will also have a multiplayer mode. Developer DICE promised a host of free DLC contents with additional maps and modes.

The teaser comes as "Star Wars Battlefront II" developers addressed concerns that the multiplayer mode might be problematic once players learn to manipulate its loot box-style system. Some gamers are concerned that it might not present a balanced experience for all players, especially for those eager to pay to win.

"[The response] is not annoying because we love the fans," Chris Matthews, who heads the team behind "Star Wars Battlefront II," told Gamespot about these concerns. "We're gamers and we're trying to make something that's super-compelling that everybody's going to enjoy, but, you know, it's understandable."

"Star Wars Battlefront II" is a follow up to the 2015 "Battlefront" release. It will be available for PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC gamers on Friday, Nov. 17. A release on Switch hasn't been ruled out as well.
