"Star Wars" has got to be one of the biggest science fiction franchises in history. With the unorthodox order of episode releases, it has steadily gained a mass following that is always hungry for more. Now, as the latest installment premieres soon, many can't help but wonder if "Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens" will be the best one yet.
Recently, a poll has been held bearing this main question. Variety reports that the survey was conducted by Harris Interactive and commissioned by Fusion Ops, during Sept. 14-16. The results show that almost two-thirds, or 63 percent, of the fans are quite certain that they will be blown away by the new movie, while the other 37 percent thinks that it won't be able to top its predecessors.
Unlike previous assumptions that director J.J. Abrams will stir great excitement, the survey revealed that apparently only 15 percent of the fans were actually affected by that fact. Most of the interest is generated by the "more advanced CGI" technology as 36 percent actually gave it as the reason. For the other percentages, reasons such as "more interesting story" were cited and an expectation that it would it be "more true to the Star Wars series" both had 25 percent, and only 14 percent talked about having a better cast.

Abrams has been clear before about how he wanted to take on a reminiscent tone of George Lucas' original trilogy but still be distinct. He emphasized that times have changed compared to when the first movies had come out and audiences have surely different expectations nowadays. He told Vanity Fair, "The world is a different place now than it was when [George Lucas' first] movie came out, we can't come out with the same thing and expect people to react as if they hadn't seen it before." He further added, "So to me it's not about trying to remake exactly what we've seen. It's about inheriting and embracing the elements of 'Star Wars' that are the tenets of what is so powerful."
"Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens" is expected to hit theaters on Dec. 18 this year.
