'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3: Thrawn's Large-Scale Attack Teased in Season Finale Trailer
After the airing of the highly anticipated rematch between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul, "Star Wars Rebels" is set to conclude its third season in an even grander scale with its upcoming finale episode.
In this week's hour-long episode titled "Zero Hour," Grand Admiral Thrawn's intricate planning and plotting leads to a large-scale battle that aims to destroy the Rebellion once and for all.
The official synopsis for "Zero Hour" reads:
"Part One
In final preparations for their attack on Lothal, Phoenix Squadron's plans are disrupted when Grand Admiral Thrawn discovers their location.
Part Two
Trapped on Atollon with the rebel base under siege, Hera and Kanan fight to keep the squadron alive, as Ezra attempts to rally help from an unexpected source."
Even with the eager anticipation from the fans to watch the season 3 finale of "Star Wars Rebels," Disney has not stopped promoting the arrival of the episode. The network has even recently unveiled a brand-new trailer for the hour-long finale.
The promo video is heavily focused on the grand battle. Hera is seen saying that Thrawn is launching the "first wave" of attacks, which implies that the Grand Admiral has an abundant number of reinforcements at his disposal.
The conflict is also seen to take place in two arenas: in space and on the ground. While the Ghost deals with the surge of TIE fighters as well as Star Destroyers, Zeb is preoccupied on the planet's surface as he attempts to prevent walkers from completely wiping them out.
Another important scene shown is the arrival of Sabine and the Mandalorians to aid the Rebels in their fight against the Imperial's massive army. Earlier in the season, Sabine departed from the main group in order to stay in her home world and fulfill her own destiny.
The season 3 finale of "Star Wars Rebels" is scheduled to air on Saturday, March 25 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on DisneyXD. The animated series has already been renewed for a fourth season.
