'Star Wars Rebels' spoilers, updates: Sabine leaves Ghost but creator teases her storyline may not be over yet
The previous episode of "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 may have resulted in victory for the Mandalorians, but it also ended with a major crew member leaving the team.
In episode 17 titled "Through Imperial Eyes," fans will see how the crew will deal with Sabine's (Tiya Sircar) departure. After deciding to leave Ghost, it remains to be seen how the crew will manage without her.
While the synopsis for the upcoming episode does not make any mention of Sabine or her decision to leave, it hints that the remaining members will start looking for a rebel spy who might be traced by the Empire.
Kanan (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), Ezra (Taylor Gray) and the other members of the crew may still not be able to get over Sabine's decision to leave in episode 17, but they will reportedly be able to deal with it. However, there are speculations that Sabine will turn out to be the only worthy leader in her planet and will therefore not return to the crew anymore.
In the episode titled "Legacy of Mandalore," Sabine was lucky enough to have reconnected with her mother, Countess Ursa (Sharmila Devar), after taking down Gar Saxon (Ray Stevenson). However, she ultimately opted to leave Ghost and return to Mandalore to fight for the freedom of her people and find the one who would wield the Darksaber as the ruler of her home world.
Meanwhile, "Star Wars Rebels" creator Dave Filoni teased in a recent interview with Comicbook that Sabine's storyline is not over yet. "It's very possible that we haven't seen the last of Sabine. I don't think that's a massive spoiler on any level. I think it might relieve the tension for people that are having a heart attack. Not everything needs to be this bizarre conspiracy kind of thing," he said.
"Star Wars Rebels" season 3 episode 17 airs on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 8:30 p.m. EST on Disney XD.
