'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Rumors: Ewoks Return, Jar Jar Binks to Make Appearance?
With less than six months remaining before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits the big screen, rumors have emerged the Ewoks and Jar Jar Binks will be in Episode VII.
Rumors have been circulating the Ewoks from "Return of the Jedi" and Jar Jar Binks from Episodes I through III will be making an appearance on the seventh film in the Star Wars saga.
According to Cinemablend, a press book was given out to guests during actress Daisy Ridley and producer Kathleen Kennedy's press tour in Japan. The book included blurbs about Episode VII's cast, and the list included English actor Warwick Davis, who played Wicket in "Return of the Jedi."
Davis, who was in the 1983 film as a 13-year-old, also played a Rodian bounty hunter named Wald in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" in 1999.
The presence of Davis in the press book featuring the Episode VII cast may point toward the presence of Ewoks in "The Force Awakens," if Davis reprises his role as Wicket.
Rumors have also emerged some concept artwork on the film depicts dead Ewoks after The First Order (The Empire's new name) visits Endor on a quest for Darth Vader's mask and slaughters the natives, making it possible Wicket may have survived the massacre and escaped to the Resistance base.
Another rumor making the rounds involves the bones of Jar Jar Binks making an appearance in the desert. A Firector J.J. Abrams made a notation on a spot in a desert planet during a special effects review, saying he was planning on putting Jar Jar Binks' bones there, according to a Vanity Fair article.
The movie's plot remains tightly under wraps, including the film's budget and the costume designs, except for press information pointing out the story takes place 30 years after the events of "Return of the Jedi."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is scheduled for theatrical release on Dec. 18, 2015.
