'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Plot News, Release Date: Andy Serkis Confirms Snoke Won't Meet General Leia
Since announcing "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," Lucasfilm has kept a tight lid on its plot. Although teasers for the upcoming movie have been released in recent weeks, several questions about its major and minor storylines are still left unanswered. One of them is whether or not Supreme Leader Snoke will cross paths with General Leia Organa.
In "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Snoke only appeared as a gigantic hologram. However, the "Star Wars" toys and images released a few weeks ago hinted that fans would get to see him in person in the next installment. But while Andy Serkis' character will be talking to some of the members of The First Order in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," the actor himself revealed that he will not be able to interact with some members of the Resistance in the upcoming movie.
Recently, Serkis confirmed in an interview that his character will not be encountering the late Carrie Fisher's General Leia Organa in "The Last Jedi." The actor revealed that he was not able to film any scene with Fisher, thus Supreme Leader Snoke will not get to meet her character.
"I had no scenes with Carrie but I did get to know her a little bit," Serkis told The List. "She was an incredible human being with a wonderful personality and she's sadly, sadly missed and everyone who came into contact with her was really touched by her great energy and great sense of humor."
The next installment in the "Star Wars" trilogy will be an emotional one for fans as they mourn the death of Fisher. After the actress died last year, Lucasfilm confirmed that no changes had been made to the original story since she was already done filming her scenes prior to her passing. Because of that, many wonder what her role in the upcoming movie is.
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will open in U.S. theaters on Dec. 15.
