Steven Spielberg Red Carpet Walk: Director Receives Award Just Before Oscars
Steven Spielberg was the envy of the red carpet on Saturday as he entered escorted by three blonde women: his wife and two daughters.
Spielberg managed an impressive appearance while arriving at the American Cinema Editors Awards over the weekend. His wife, Kate Capshaw, her daughter Jessica from another marriage, and his own daughter, Desty Allyn, escorted the film director to the event held at the Beverley Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
Spielberg was honored with an ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award. While accepting the award, Spielberg spoke highly of film editors whom he referred to as "heroes."

"Editing and directing are almost interchangeable," he announced to the crown. "I've always looked at the editing room as the safe haven of second chances ... Editors, everybody here: You are my heroes."
Spielberg is responsible for producing and directing "Lincoln," a slavery abolition film starring Daniel Day Lewis as the former president. Edited by Michael Kahn, the film was nominated for seven Golden Globe Awards. It is also up for 12 Oscar awards, with most predictions in favor of the film.
Spielberg will go up against Ben Affleck for the top prize of Best Film. Affleck is responsible for directing "Argo," an Iranian hostage drama that has also received critical acclaim, but failed to do as well during award season as some may have expected.
Spielberg won his first Academy Awards as director of the 1993 "Schindler's List." He is also responsible for directing other popular films including "Saving Private Ryan," "E.T.," and "Jurassic Park." As of last year, the unadjusted gross of all Spielberg-directed films exceeds $8.5 billion worldwide.
