Stevie Wonder Wants to Be a TMZ Camera Man? (VIDEO)
Stevie Wonder wants to be a TMZ camera man, apparently.
Stevie Wonder joked about wanting to be an infamous TMZ camera man while out celebrating his birthday. The 62-year-old "Superstition" singer laughed along with a TMZ videographer that found him outside a club.
"I think we should do a special show and let me do the camera stuff and go around and talk to people," he joked with the TMZ camera man, who was doing an impromptu interview. "I want to do the pictures and the whole deal."
At first, when TMZ saw the clip, they assumed he meant guest hosting- they would soon find out otherwise.
"I want to be behind the camera," joked Wonder, who was blinded shortly after his birth. His sense of humor was not lost on the entertainment website, who clowned their current TMZ camera men for bad shots they had taken in a video clip.
"Even our camera guys with sight have no clue who their shooting," said the voice-over.
One camera man mistook actor Mekhi Phifer for singer-songwriter Keith Sweat, and another thought a random Asian woman was golfer Tiger Woods' mother. She wasn't.
Although Wonder, the music legend, was able to joke about the camera man's presence during his birthday celebration, many celebrities are not happy to see paparazzi.
Earlier this month on May 10, Halle Berry was videotaped clashing with a paparazzo who was filming her and her daughter at school.
"Why don't you do an honest job and stop harassing me and my daughter?!" Halle yelled. Following that was a foul tirade of expletives, and she eventually stormed off out of sight. No physical contact was made by either the paparazzo or Berry, fortunately.
Similarly, comedian Chris Rock roughed up a videographer in January. When the paparazzo started asking him questions about Newt Gingrich, among other things, Rock "pushed the interviewer and grabbed the camera," a source told The New York Post. From there, he smashed the camera to pieces.
"Did you get your shot?" an angry Rock fumed.
