Sting WWE Debut 2014: Returning? 'It's Gonna Be Great,' The Rock Says
This year in WWE, there are rumors about Sting making his return to the wrestling scene after more than a decade of absence. Nothing is official yet but a number of things hint of his return to the WWE.
Some say that Sting has met with Vince McMahon and many others in the WWE as they iron out a talent contract for Sting to wrestle in the ring. Some details are still left out but it would appear irrelevant since the two sides are now close and the deal is done. All that's left to do is to wait for WWE's official announcement.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also spilled out some information while he was out promoting his film "Hercules." Aside from downplaying a return match by Roman Reigns as well as alluding to his aborted match with Brock Lesnar due to injuries he sustained in WrestlMania 29, he was also asked about a pre-order character for Sting in the upcoming WWE 2K15 game.
"I do think Sting will come back, yeah. And, I know a guy or two, so let's just put it like that. I do think he's gonna come back and I think it's gonna be great," Johnson told Cage Side Seats.
Earlier this year in July, the wrestler, whose birth name is Steve Borden, confirmed that he is now part of the WWE family and is set for a match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31.
Later that month, Borden appeared in his full Sting garb during the San Diego Comic Con International. It was also during the event that WWE's latest Mattel action figures were announced as well as WWE's interview with Sting that was recorded earlier in the month.
