Stolen iPad Pictures: Man Posts Photos of iPad Thief Taken With Stolen Device (PICS)
A stolen iPad has amused its rightful owner after pictures taken with the tablet started appearing on his iCloud photostream.
Allen Engstrom from Arkansas told KTHV, "It's been a continuing fountain of entertainment for me. It's just like I'll wake up one day and they'll be new pictures there and I'm like oh my gosh, she has no idea."
Engstrom's iPad was stolen when he was on a flight from Phoenix to Denver, and he had assumed he'd never see it again.
However, one day his son asked Engstrom's wife who an unfamiliar face was in a photo that had appeared in their family's iCloud photostream.
Engstrom said, "He said mommy, who's this? And of course she said, I have no idea who that is. It showed up on my phone too. After a while we figured out what was going on. That's the person that has my iPad."
He has now decided to have fun with the entire incident and has now posted photos of the person who has his iPad onto his social media accounts. In one he posted with a photo: "Hey cool! This is an actual pic of the wonderful person who stole my iPad. Apparently the pics she is taking of herself are backing up and appearing on my phone. No I'm not kidding, this is really happening."
He also told KTHV, "I have no problem with putting it on Facebook, because hey, it's fun for me and it's apparently fun for a lot of other people. And there's always the chance that someone will say hey, I know who that is. And I want my iPad back."
Already due to responses to his postings on social media sites he now knows the iPad thief lives in Phoenix, and also knows her Instagram user name.
"It's pretty crazy how quickly it's spread when it goes viral. I've never had anything like that happen before," he said.
