'Street Fighter 5' DLC Characters Revealed Through Data Leak
The upcoming fighting video game "Street Fighter 5" is going to be released a few months from now. But even before the game could make it to its launch date, a leak revealed vital information ahead of time disclosing the most talked six secret characters that will be added in the post launch DLC.
According to VG 24/7, data from the game was mined last week which finally revealed who the six characters are. These secret characters were teased during the Paris Games Week and developer Capcom showed a photo of six silhouettes at the conference, leaving fans very curious. But the answers are now revealed so the guessing game is over.
Games Radar detailed that it was the members of the Shoryuken forums who pulled out plenty of information by datamining the latest beta. They were able to extract the names of the character voice files including all of the 15 revealed characters and a sixteenth one named Fan or Fun. The six additional DLC characters are Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri and Urien.
Alex was the main character in the "Street Fighter 3" game. Guile and Balrog were characters from "Street Fighter 2" while ninja-girl Ibuki and a large partially naked man Urien came from the third one. Juri debuted in the fourth installment and he's all about kicks.
But the names of the characters were not the only ones publicized. The data miners were also able to obtain access to information regarding the ranking system ranging from Rookie to Grand Master to Hero, as reported by IGN. There were also audio files containing information about next year's potential events on the Capcom Pro Tour.
Event Hubs also noted that a gallery was retrieved in the PC version of the beta. It contained photos of the beta #2 characters featuring 10 alternate colors for each. It is not certain yet if the characters revealed are final already but chances are high that it is the complete roster.
Fans will have to watch out for the game as soon as it arrives on Feb. 16, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
