'Street Fighter 5' DLC Update for July 2016 – Welcome Ibuki and Balrog, What New Moves Do You Have in Store?
Balrog and Ibuki Return in July DLC of 'Street Fighter 5'
Big changes are in store for fans of the long running "Street Fighter" series as July 1 marks the date the largest DLC will be made available for "Street Fighter V." The new DLC also marks the first time that two DLC characters will be made available to download -- Ibuki and Balrog.
Ibuki
The female ninja Ibuki returns from her last version in "Street Fighter IV." Ibuki has gone through several major changes since fans saw her last. The biggest change that she has is that she no longer has an infinite stock of kunai (throwing daggers). Instead, Ibuki has to reload her kunai after several uses.
However, she now has newer options with the kunai and can throw them at different angles and patterns. Ibuki retains several moves from her previous appearances including her ground slide, up kick and teleport attack. The biggest complaint that Ibuki players have, though, is that she no longer plays like a fast vortex character but a mix-up, 50/50 character at a slower pace.
Balrog
Balrog was recently showcased at the CEO championships and he did not fail to impress. While he still has his straight dash punches and armor moves, Balrog now plays more like a boxer with methods of getting in close and target combos.
The biggest upgrade to Balrog's arsenal of moves is his v-skill called KKB, which allows Balrog to dodge projectiles and get in closer to his opponent.
Juri and Urien
The last two DLC characters for Season 1 of "Street Fighter V" are Juri and Urien. Both were teased at CEO after the Balrog reveal trailer. Both characters have gotten a stylistic overhaul as their costumes look very different from the time fans saw the pair.
While Juri and Urien's release date has not been announced yet, it has been confirmed that both characters will have a semi-playable version in the brand new story mode which is also available on July 1.
Story Mode
One of the biggest complaints about "Street Fighter V" upon its release earlier this year was the lack of a single-player story mode. While this story mode was promised by the June update, it appears it has been pushed back to July 1. The story mode will be a cinematic experience that will last at least three to four hours of game time.
