'Street Fighter 5' Is Coming To SEA On February 16
The fifth installment in the "Street Fighter" franchise was earlier announced to arrive in North America, Europe and Japan in February 2016. Earlier reports said that North America and Europe would be getting it on February 16, while the Japanese market would be getting it two days later on February 18. Fans of the fighting video game in other markets, particularly South East Asia, will be thrilled to know that the game is arriving on its shores the same time as North America and Europe.
According to an IGN report, the South East Asian market will see the release of the much-awaited game and it will be available in its digital and physical versions. Pricing for the standard physical version of the game is at Singapore $ 74.90 while a digital copy will cost the gamer Singapore $ 71.90.
If gamers want more, there is also a limited edition of the game available which was originally made for the European market only. Called the "Street Fighter V Special Shoryuken Edition," it includes a physical copy of the game, limited product codes, and more importantly, the Asian original command lists for the 16 characters in the game. This is packaged in an original steelbook and is only available in limited quantities. The limited edition will cost a gamer Singapore $ 89.90 to purchase.
The digital or download-only version of the game will come with an extra bonus: the "Street Fighter V" Asian original theme. Limited edition PS+ "Street Fighter V"-themed cards were also revealed during the announcement of the SEA release date.
The game will be available for the PS4 and the PC (Microsoft and Linux) only. It is also expected to have a mode that allows "cross-platform" play, which means fighters from different platforms can play with each other. A total of 16 characters will be included in the launch and four of these characters are considered new to the game. The developer also promised that subsequent updates will be bringing new characters to fight, starting with an additional six characters to be released within 2016.
