'Street Fighter 5' Release Date, News & Update: Rage Quitting Now Has More Severe Penalties [DETAILS]

Rage Quitters on 'Street Fighter 5' to Deal with Stricter Penalties

Capcom is scheduled to release an update for "Street Fighter 5" in order to impose more severe penalties for rage quitters in the game.

Playing fighting video games can be extremely frustrating, especially when players are up against more skilled ones. However, it isn't right to leave online matches early because of the possibility of losing. Capcom is therefore imposing a new system that will discourage players from rage quitting in their new update for "Street Fighter 5."

The gaming company wrote on their blog, Capcom-Unity that their August update for "Street Fighter 5" will include the Rage Quitting Penalty. Players who quit before the match is over will have League Points deducted and will be temporarily disqualified from online matching. It is not known how many points will be shaved off and how long players will be locked out of the matches. The update will be imposed on Aug. 16 after the maintenance of the game.

Capcom hopes that with their stricter Rage Quitting Penalty guidelines, "Street Fighter 5" players will be discouraged from leaving the game early. They will continue to look for a more permanent solution and hopefully, find one by next year, according to them.

Eurogamer points out that Capcom had a system in place last April to identify "Street Fighter 5" players who have "high disconnection rates" or rage quitters. During that time, the players who were found guilty were locked out of online matchmaking for a certain period of time. It was not specified what the system would consider as purposeful disconnection, but many "Street Fighter 5" players say that the punishment is too light.

'Street Fighter 5' September Update

Meanwhile, there is another update planned for "Street Fighter 5" this September. Game Spot notes that Season pass holders of the game can download colors 3-10, free of charge, for all the Default and Battle costumes of all DLC characters in the game. Premium costumes will now have colors 3-10 next month. These color bundles can be bought with real money or Fight Money in "Street Fighter 5."

Furthermore, it will now be easier for players to earn Fight Money because there will be a special "Street Fighter 5" event called Double FM. This will happen next month on September 2 to 4. There will also be Daily Targets next month, a feature where players can complete tasks to earn more Fight Money inside the game.
