'Street Fighter 5' Season 2 DLC: Capcom Pledges to Support Game for 'Many, Many Years'

"Street Fighter 5" players will not have to worry about post-launch support for the game as Capcom is committed to expanding it in the years to come.

It is no secret that the fighting game's launch was a bit disastrous. In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz , Capcom Europe COO Stuart Turner admitted that they "didn't get much right" with the game during its launch.

However, he did say that they have learned a lot from the experience and have put in place plans to make sure not to commit these mistakes again.

In fact, Turner believes that "Street Fighter 5" is so far "hitting its stride" since that debacle of a launch. With that in mind, they put their attention on releasing more downloadable content (DLC).

"There are seasons of content to come and we still have support plans for the title for many more years," the Capcom executive teased of their "Street Fighter 5" roadmap.

"Our Capcom Pro Tour is going into even more countries than ever before while local tournaments are being set up in places such as India in 2017. After a difficult start, Street Fighter 5 in a very good place now," he went on to say.

Keeping this promise, Capcom is hard at work on the season 2 DLC for "Street Fighter 5." In fact, a comprehensive balance patch is coming to the game next month.

There will be major system changes to expect. V-Reversal input delay on crouching block has been shortened by 1F while players will no longer be able to escape throws while inputting up during the throw escape.

Thanks to the "Street Fighter 5" balance patch, the number of frames for completing a charge is up from 6F to 10F. Also, the update changes much of the Shoryuken-type attacks.

The "L" Shoryuken attacks will maintain throw invincibility while the "M" moves will boast added airborne invincibility. "H" Shoryuken attacks will have attack and projectile invincibility,

As for the how this affects the characters individually, players can read about all that here.
