'Street Fighter V' Character Introduction Series: Get to Know the New Fighter Laura
Capcom has released a new video showcasing Laura Matsuda who joins the franchise for the first time in the upcoming title "Street Fighter V." Capcom is getting fans hyped, as the much-anticipated fighting game is but a few days shy of launching.
The new trailer (below) offers fans a preview of Laura's moves and attacks, including her V Skill and V Trigger. The Brazilian fighter, whom Capcom announced in October 2015 during the Brasil Game Show, is Sean's older sister who practices in her own unique fighting style known as Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu. Laura is the first fighter in the franchise to use this fighting style.
In addition, she's also the first grappler to have a projectile, her fireball called Thunder Clap where Laura releases an electric current from both hands. The special move can be used both as an attack and as a defensive wall.

This electrifying Brazilian fighter gets more charged up when players activate her V Trigger Spark Show. Using her V Trigger, Laura can add more distance to Thunder Clap, increase the dash range of her V Skill, and maximize her stun output.
Her V Skill is called Linear Movement. This allows her to cancel normal attacks in favor of a dash in either direction. Otherwise, Laura will deliver an overhead kick when Linear Movement is used in a neutral position.
Players who specialize in close-range combat can add her grappling moves and the speed with which she delivers them to their arsenal.
The new video is part of Capcom's character introduction series. The company had previously published video introductions for returning fighters Vega, Karin, Nash, Zangief, and Ken, as well as for newcomers F.A.N.G. and Necalli. The series is narrated by Capcom Community Manager Matt Edwards.
"Street Fighter V" will be available on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
