'Street Fighter V' News, Updates: New Mod Pack Fixes Long Loading Time; Capcom Releases Video Featuring Kolin
Since its launch, the road has been rough for "Street Fighter V." The most recent entry in the "Street Fighter" franchise has suffered from poor sales, which many gaming enthusiasts ascribe to its poor reputation.
Looking past the reasons for its current status in the gaming community, one can actually find that "Street Fighter V" is not that bad after all. It is a solid fighting game that offers good gameplay, but many gamers find it lackluster because of its atrocious loading times. Luckily, one concerned member of the gaming community has recently succeeded in doing a great fix for the game.
This week, a modder named TOOLASSISTED released a mod that aims to improve the long loading time of the game. While that sounds interesting enough, the more interesting thing about this development is that TOOLASSISTED inadvertently revealed that the long loading time for which the game is known is actually designed and controlled by Capcom.
According to TOOLASSISTED, he was able to fix the long loading time of "Street Fighter V" by simply changing the Char Select UI of the game from 60 fps to 255 fps. That said, it means that Capcom has full control of the long loading time and that the problem could have been easily fixed since it only takes a single value to reduce the game's loading time to just a few seconds across all modes.
According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the new mod reflected either Capcom's incompetence or its outright intention to keep the game's loading time that long. Previously, loading times lasted for at least a minute. This explains why the release of the new mod pack has received generally positive reviews from gamers.
In other news, Capcom has just released a new video featuring Kolin, who will be added to the roster of playable characters by the end of this month. The video showcases her move set against other combatants in the game.
