'Street Fighter X Tekken' Release Date: New Images Display 'Swap' Costumes (VIDEOS)
A slew of new images have popped up displaying the "Swap" costumes for the fighters in "Street Fighter X Tekken."
Capcom-Europe's website posted these images yesterday. Several new photographs are shown through the Capcom-Unity blog website.
"These are actually called ‘Swap Costumes," where the designs of the Street Fighter costumes and Tekken costumes are "swapped" between the series," said Capcom-Unity.
Some of the more noteworthy costume changes include Heihachi dressed as Sodom, Kuma dressed as R. Mika, Zangief dressed as Kuma, and Ryu dressed as Ogre.
The first video, from YouTube user xXBluBLOODXx, contains footage of the new alternate costumes:
Several forum users for EventHubs are looking forward to these new outfits.
Forum userAssassin4than said: "King as Alex looks amazing, its like Gado from Bloody Roar. [I'm] also loving Jinpachi Dhalsim."
"And here I thought Angel was forgotten," said forum user anon1010. "I also lol'd at Panda Chun Li and Jinpachi Dhalsim."
Yoshinori Ono, the producer for the game recently announced the next arrival of character reveal trailers.
When asked "When will you announce new characters for Street Fighter X Tekken," Ono responded, "It will be at the end of December (23 - 26) at Asia Game Show in Hong Kong. ;D."
In a recent interview with NowGamer, Capcom Community Manager Seth Killian spoke on the game: "We have a few months till release with this game and we plan to announce characters right up to the finish line. The character select screen will be covered with characters, so we have quite a lot still to come including some from "Street Fighter" history that have not been in a game for quite some time, so we want to make both sets of fans happy."
When asked about the final number of confirmed fighters in the game, Killian said: "I do but not one I’m going to share today [laughs]. I think, overall, it’ll be almost impossible to be disappointed with the number of characters in the roster. This is the most robust roster we’ve had for a Street Fighter game. I don’t want to say ever because someone will get me if I say that, but it’s a lot of characters."
The next video lists all the announced characters for "Street Fighter X Tekken":
The final release date for "Street Fighter X Tekken" is March 6, 2012. It will be playable on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
