Recently, a spoiler for the film showed Harley Quinn, as a hostage by The Joker, played by Jared Leto. While the film is expected to show them as separated individuals, the two are portrayed in the comic books as partners, with Harley Quinn as The Joker's sidekick and girlfriend.
With that, it is reported that the upcoming film will explore the origins of the popular DC villains. It will also illustrate the beginnings of Harley Quinn's relationship with The Joker.
It was reported that the upcoming film will have Jared Leto's portrayal of The Joker as disturbing. It was said that Leto will use method acting as his approach for the character. According to his fellow actors, his portrayal of the character left them scared. Even the director of the film, David Ayer, mentioned that the upcoming Joker is "crazy" and commended Leto for his portrayal. He even explained that Leto's Joker will be in line with Heath Ledger's portrayal of the role.
