'Suicide Squad' Movie Rumor: Ben Affleck's Batman Gets More Than a Cameo Role in the Movie

The latest trailer of the upcoming DC movie "Suicide Squad" has finally been released, and it bodes well for a movie packed with explosive action and humor.

Notably, the trailer features more of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, teasing several of her scenes in the movie as she delivers wittingly funny one liners and carries a small mallet. It also offers a better look at Jared Letto's Joker and Jay Hernandez's El Diablo. The trailer also shows Will Smith's Deadshot character reminding the squad that they are the bad guys.

The trailer, which aired officially during Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards, also teases the previously announced participation of Ben Affleck's Batman in the movie as the Dark Knight is seen chasing the Joker as he isn't happy with the plan of the White House to get the services of the supervillains.

With the release of the trailer, the speculation that Affleck's Batman getting more than a cameo exposure in the film has been bolstered. Earlier, it was reported that Affleck's Batman in "Suicide Squad" is not just a cameo.

According to reports, the lineup of "Suicide Squad" is a roster of Batman villains. Hence, it shouldn't be surprising if the Dark Knight gets a more-than-cameo exposure in the film of the bad guys that he fights in his world.

It is also speculated that Warner Bros. is capitalizing on the positive reviews generated by Affleck's Batman in the still showing "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," hence, the move to give him more exposure in "Suicide Squad."

Last week, it was reported that Warner Bros. ordered some scenes of "Suicide Squad" to be re-shot in order to give the film more humor, something that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" lacks and is criticized for. However, according to "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer, there is no veracity to the rumors.

"I wouldn't say we're going back to make it funnier, there's some additional action stuff that we've been doing, which is pretty dope… really we're just kind of adding in that sense," said "Suicide Squad" actor Jai Courtney in his interview with Entertainment Tonight as reported by Entertainment Weekly, clarifying that the reshoots are for more action scenes and not to inject more humor to the movie.

"I think there's plenty of (humor) in it," Courtney said in reference to the upcoming DC movie.

"Suicide Squad" opens on Aug. 5.
