'Suicide Squad' news: Cast celebrates after finishing production
The cast and crew of "Suicide Squad" recently wrapped up production in Toronto.
The production was a heavy project on the cast, as they portrayed villains. The process of internalization became intense that they were forced to hire a therapist on set to help characters. Actor Adam Beach said, "We kind of have like a therapist on board if you fall off the wagon and really are villainous. There's a friend of [Ayer's] that's very unique in making sure we have our ground. David Ayer is about realism. So if your character is tormented, he wants you to torment yourself. He wants the real thing. Us actors explore very fine thin lines going to the dark side and he wants to make sure we finish a movie and don't disappear somewhere and then don't show up for work."
With the end of the production, the cast celebrated by getting matching tattoos to commemorate their time together. Photos of the cast surfaced showing the word "SKWAD" tattooed onto various places.
It was also reported that Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney spent their time at a little girl's lemonade stand after finishing filming. According to Canada's CTV News, the two stars went to Na'Ama's lemonade stand to aid her in raising money for charity. The stand opened a year ago to help the little girl's brother go through a rare disorder called Angelman's Syndrome. Courtney posted a photo with Robbie, Na'Ama, and the brother Naday.
The film directed by David Ayer features a stellar cast with Robbie as Harley Quinn, Courtney as Boomerang, Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto as The Joker.
Written and directed by Ayer, the film is expected to premiere on Aug. 5, 2016.
