'Suicide Squad' rumors, news, and spoilers: Could the Joker be Robin?
As villains' fans await the coming of the "Suicide Squad," a new rumor has taken the DC universe by fire: Joker is actually Robin.
Just when the Suicide Squad production team seemed to tone down in giving off information, a fan by the name of DeathByRequest on Reddit has some "evidence" on the rumor that has been roaming around town for some time.
Over the past several months, it was rumored that Jason Todd, a.k.a the second Robin, is actually none other than DC's most-loved villain, the Joker.
This time, DeathByRequest said he noticed an "unusual" piece of evidence from two different pictures. One is Joker's Suicide Squad promotional portrait and the other is the Robin suit as depicted in the most recent "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer.
The fan says if the pictures are put together, two circular marks will be seen on each of Joker's shoulders — one by his demon tattoo's hat and the other just under the "A" on one of the "HAs" — and the Robin suit, on the other hand, has two circular marks that could match the seemingly burn marks on the Joker's shoulders.
The new rumor could also be linked to the previous speculations that Joker's tattoos are clues to Jason's identity as the new Clown Prince of Crime.
Cinema Blend explains that there could be two theories explaining the creepy possibility. One is that the first Joker didn't actually get killed but was only tortured to insanity by The Joker, resulting to his death in a metaphorical sense. Another theory is that Jason was really killed, but was brought back to life and went insane, then followed the footsteps of the Joker until such time that he has taken over the Joker's identity himself.
Meanwhile, director David Ayer has revealed that his team has the "coolest" shooting script as he shared a photo on Twitter showing a dark blue book with a "City of Gotham" and "Public Health Services" seal, while the logo of Arkham is flaunted at the center.
Suicide Squad comes to theaters on August 5, 2016.
