'Suicide Squad' Spoilers & Update: Joker Kidnaps Harley Quinn, Jared Leto Plays Character Seriously
The year is almost coming to an end, which means new movies are going to start showing soon. Included in next year's most-awaited movie list is the film based on DC Comics' antihero team "Suicide Squad." According to Movie News Guide, the movie is going to be the second movie of Warner Bros. for 2016 with "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" as the first one.
And although it's still several months away until show time, fans are already getting some sneak peeks as well as little spoilers on what will come to the flick. It has already been previously reported that the Suicide Squad is a secret team of supervillains who were captured by the United States government. The trailer of the movie that was released showed a lot of the prison scene wherein villains like Deadshot (Will Smith) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) were seen. In exchange for general pardon, the team must accomplish a certain mission for the government. Small bombs were then imbedded in them, which can explode if they try to escape or cause trouble.
Other than the basic plot, details of the movie are kept under the wraps. However, in a spoiler report by International Business Times, it is said that leaked footage revealed a glimpse of Harley Quinn being held hostage by The Joker, played by Jared Leto. Avid fans of the comic book series know that Harley Quinn is the sidekick and girlfriend of Joker. But in the upcoming movie, it looks like they will be estranged. Cinema Blend is guessing that it has something to do with the former psychiatrist's guilt over the death of Batman's sidekick, Robin.
In other news, fans can expect the Joker to be very creepy and disturbing. Latinos Post reported that award-winning actor Leto has been deep into his method acting during the shooting of the film. In fact, his acting skills may have exceeded more than what was expected that even his co-actors are scared of him. During a Q&A event in Dubai, Leto let his fans have a sample of his crazy take of the iconic villain. He even called out a guy from the audience wearing a Batman T-shirt and said that he had a lot of nerve showing up with that kind of shirt. He then belted out his best Joker laugh.
"Suicide Squad" is slated to premiere on Aug. 5, 2016.
