'Suits' Season 6 Spoilers: Mike's Release Once Again Derailed by Cahill's Power Play
Just when Mike thought that he fulfilled his end of the deal, Cahill wanted him to do something one last time.
Last week's episode of "Suits" Season 6, Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) tried everything they could to possibly get the deal with Sean Cahill (Neal McDonough) back on the table. Too many obstacles simply stood in their way in getting Mike out of prison.
The deal is on
One thing that worked for them was finally convincing Jill (Amanda Lisman) to be a witness against her father, William Sutter (Alan Rosenberg), in his insider trading charge. Since Mike was the person responsible for this breakthrough in the case, he should be out of prison if the previous deal Harvey made with Cahill holds true. For a while it looked like Mike's way out of prison was easier than what everyone initially thought.

Mike made another bold move in the episode titled "Borrowed Time" of "Suits" when he confessed to Kevin (Eric Palladino) that he was an informant and was in fact, supposed to snitch on him. Kevin lost his trust in him after that.
Neither Mike nor Harvey can now do anything to protect Kevin, or at least get his sentence commuted. But, with Jill's cooperation, Sutter got the judgment that he deserved. Things appeared to have finally come together in Mike's prison storyline.
Deal is not on the table again
That is until the preview of "Suits" Season 6 Episode 9, "The Hand That Feeds You", was released. Before Mike can finally leave prison for good, Harvey and Cahill seem to want him to do one last thing.
A very upset Mike tells Harvey in the video clip that he did not sign the deal just to get somebody killed. Harvey reminds him that he went for the deal to get himself out.
At the end of the tense teaser of the upcoming episode of "Suits" Season 6, Mike can be seen accusing Cahill of abusing his power by trying to get somebody killed. Cahill unsympathetically tells him that if Mike wants to see a real show of abuse of authority, it was him pulling off the deal once again.
Mike's release from prison still uncertain
Now that the deal is no longer on the table, many are wondering until when Mike has to stay behind bars. Adams admitted to reporters in June that he himself does not know when his character will be released.
The actor added that the show's writers are committing to Mike's imprisonment as a full storyline. But, his guess is that the writers will not do a full two years' worth of the series on said story arc.
The synopsis for "Suits" Season 6 Episode 9 was also made available. It reveals that Harvey is contemplating returning Gallo (Paul Schulze) to the streets in order to protect Mike. Rachel (Meghan Markle) and Jessica (Gina Torres) will be able to have Bailey's (Glenn Plummer) case re-opened while Louis (Rick Hoffman) will experience anxiety over Tara (Carly Pope).
The new episode of "Suits" Season 6 airs on September 7, Wednesday, on USA Network.
