Sunday Night Football Live Stream: Watch Online Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals (NBC TV Preview)
Sunday Night Football takes place today as the Seattle Seahawks go on the road in a massive game against the Arizona Cardinals. This game is packed with Playoff implications as the Cardinals look to retain their number 1 seed placing for the postseason, where as the Seahawks are still trying to secure their place to defend their title in the Playoffs.
The game will start at 8.30 p.m. ET and takes place from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The game will be shown live on TV on the NBC network but can also be watched online through live stream (details below).
This all-NFC West match up will see first play second, and the surging Seahawks are hitting their top form at just the right time of the season. A win for them today would lift them level with the Arizona Cardinals.
Coming into the game the Cardinals are 11-3 where as the Seahawks have moved to 10-4 with some fantastic wins in recent weeks, including a 17-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers last week. The week before that they went on the road to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-14. In Week 12 they also defeated the Arizona Cardinals 19-3.
The Cardinals had no answer to the Seahawks strong rush offense, which is ranked number 1 in the NFL at the moment. Seattle are posting 168.8 yards on rush per game. The Seahawks' defense was also able to completely lock down the Cardinals offense last time out, and if Arizona are unable to navigate the Seahawks' strong defensive unit then they could be in for another loss today.
Coming into Sunday's games the NFL Playoffs picture is still not fully firmed up. In the AFC division the New England Patriots currently have the number 1 seed spot with their 11-3 position. If they can hold on to that position until the end of the month then they will secure themselves home field advantage through the Playoffs.
But things are still uncertain, with the Denver Broncos also on 11-3 and in the second seed position.
The 10-4 Indianapolis Colts are the current third seeds and last week secured their division title. The Cincinnati Bengals are 9-4-1 and are currently in the 4th seed position but their place in the Playoffs is far from secure at the moment - they still have not confirmed their division title, and with the AFC North still very open with three teams still fighting for the title, the Bengals likely will have to win their final two games to secure their division and a top four seeding.
Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are on 9-5 and occupy the 5th and 6th seed positions coming into the weekend.
There are still a host of teams in the hunt for one of the Wild Card spots, including the 9-6 San Diego Chargers, the 8-6 Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, and all three of the Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns are on 7-7.
The NFC looks a little more certain with only 9 teams remaining in the Playoff hunt. The 11-3 Arizona Cardinals have the number 1 seed spot coming into the weekend, but they still can be caught by the Detroit Lions, who are in the number 2 seed spot with 10-4, or of course the Seattle Seahawks if Seattle can win today. Both the Cardinals and Lions have secured their Playoff berths already, but who will get home field advantage through the Playoffs is still up in the air.
None of the other postseason spots in the NFC have been confirmed yet. The 10-4 Dallas Cowboys now look almost certain to clinch the NFC East and with it a likely 3rd seed placing. The 9-6 Philadelphia Eagles have collapsed with three straight losses - their most recent a horrible defeat to the lowly Washington Redskins. That means if the Cowboys win today then they will clinch the division title.
The New Orleans Saints are 6-8 but are in the 4th seed spot coming into the weekend, where as the 10-4 Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers occupy the 5th and 6th seed spots respectively.
Although the Eagles are in the 7th seed spot, the chances of them catching the Cowboys are now very slim - they will need Dallas to lose both of their final games and to snap their own losing streak next week.
The 5-8-1 Carolina Panthers and 5-9 Atlanta Falcons are both still in the Playoffs race and will hope to overturn the Saints to claim the 4th seed spot, but again their destiny is not in their own hands.
