'Super Smash Bros. 4' News: Live Stream Event to Bring Big News About Characters?
On Dec. 15, Nintendo will be hosting a live streaming event that is rumored to dish in huge announcements about characters that will be joining the "Super Smash Bros. 4" roster.
It was revealed earlier that the lead character from "Final Fantasy VII" will be joining the group and it is rumored that Nintendo will be announcing additional characters aside from Cloud Strife.
Cloud's coming to the "Super Smash Bros." world has become a big topic in the gaming world, especially since he is one of the biggest names in the history of gaming and has largely become an icon to players who know of his abilities.
According to Polygon, Masahiro Sakurai said he will be giving out details about "Cloud and more" in the upcoming event, and while as if Cloud's coming isn't enough, fans have been speculating what kind of content Sakurai was referring to when he said "more."
Most fans believe that Nintendo will be unveiling the names of new characters that will be added to the roster, aside from Cloud. One of the hot names in the forums, but a highly unlikely character to be chosen by Nintendo just yet, is Son Goku from "Dragon Ball Z."
It is worth noting that Nintendo gave fans a chance to give their characters of choice, ranging from various franchises. The online "Fighter Ballot" opened to all by the company started in April, giving fans the opportunity to let Nintendo know who they think should be in the group.
Popular Science says "there's a very good chance" that fans will see their preferred characters through the live streaming event next week.
The outlet adds that there is also a possibility that third-party characters from Disney and Ubisoft will end up in the roster. Rumor has it that Sora from "Kingdom Hearts" and Rayman from "Ubisoft" could be included in the upcoming characters announcement that Sakurai will make.
It is unclear if Sakurai will mainly talk about characters or if he will focus on explaining Cloud's entry but there is also speculation that other content may be discussed.
