'Super Smash Bros 4' News: 'Shovel Knight' Amiibo Character Inclusion Rumors Clarified
The Fighter Ballot is probably one of the best initiatives of the game publishing house Nintendo to fully determine which characters fans would want to see in the next character DLC outing for the hit fighting video game from Bandai Namco and Sora Ltd., "Super Smash Bros 4."
The most recent Ballot event ended on October 3 and one of the most sought-after characters was that from Yacht Club Games' "Shovel Knight" hero.
The character has been making the rounds on the rumor mill lately and the speculations have some pretty much solid basis.
For one, a report from Realty Today mentioned that there were a number of leaks about a Shovel Knight Amiibo. It comes as a total surprise for the fans and for Nintendo itself who immediately took down a web page featuring the leaked screenshot of the Amiibo figurine.
The Japanese gaming behemoth has been keeping mum on this issue. However, long before they can confirm or deny the rumors, Yacht Club Games decided to step out to settle the real score.
In the company's official statement published via their social media account, they said that speculations of the Shovel Knight being included in "Super Smash Bros 4's" upcoming character DLC list were merely a huge misunderstanding. Furthermore, they clarified that if ever SK was included in the new content, it would still be unplayable as it would not be compatible with the game's system.
However, Yacht Club Games remains grateful for the enthusiasm of gamers on the idea of adding the Shovel Knight in Nintendo's critically-acclaimed smash game. Nonetheless, they believe that the "listing was made in error."
Other characters that are also included in the DLC rumor mills are "Isaac" and "Wolf" as well as the heroes on Nintendo's own, "Splatoon."
Stay tuned for more updates.
